Emoticons - the symbols used to emphasize and convey your feelings.
In spoken language, inflections and tones allow the person you're speaking with to recognize when you're joking or serious. Such is not always the case when you're talking in chat rooms or via email.
To bridge this communication gap, emoticons are used.
Tips for using emoticons:
